He often recalls accompanying Deacon Brown on hospital visits, carrying the deacon’s Bible, an experience that, in hindsight, helped shape his heart for service.

Growing up in a Christian home, Uriah learned the importance of prayer, honesty, compassion, and humility. His mother was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Lyssons, where he attended Sunday school and youth group. However, it was not until the age of 19 that he developed a deep love for God’s Word and a desire to serve. At that time, he surrendered his life to God and was baptized at the Church of God in Christ.

Though not formally trained in theology, Uriah relies on the guidance of the Holy Ghost. He has completed short courses in mediation as well as leadership and management training through the Church of God in Christ. After several years of serving in the faith, he married his loving wife, Janise, in 1994. Together they have been blessed with four children: Janeka, Ujay, Janecia, and Joshua.

Uriah’s journey in church leadership began with roles as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader. Over the years, he served as an evangelist and junior minister before being appointed an Elder in 2023. He currently serves as Interim Pastor at the Full Gospel Faith Miracle Cathedral Churches in Lyssons, St. Thomas, where he is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and unity within the congregation.

Beyond his ministry, Uriah has worked as a farmer for more than 30 years and has served as a security guard with Jamaction Security Company for the past 14 years.

​

His faith has carried him through life’s challenges, including the loss of loved ones and personal health struggles, experiences that have only deepened his trust in God’s plan. He remains grateful for every opportunity to serve and to witness the transformative power of God’s love.

Uriah’s prayer is to continue encouraging others to walk in faith and to serve with humility and compassion. He thanks God for His grace and guidance throughout his life and looks forward to the future with confidence in God’s everlasting promises.
